Amid a meeting with Apple Music's Beats 1 have, Zane Lowe on Thursday, Nicki stated:

'The principal talk with [Cardi] did after MotorSport turned out, it just extremely hurt me cause she looked so bothered and furious… I sort of felt trapped.'

The meeting she is alluding to is when Cardi B said Nicki changed her verses on MotorSport after Cardi B joined the track, hinting that she needed to 'one up' her.

Cardi had said in her take a seat with Capital XTRA in London a year ago that she never heard the full verse of Nicki's until the point when the melody dropped.

The Bronx local stated:

'All things considered, when I heard the track, her verse wasn't done. Or on the other hand it's not the verse that is [on there] at this moment. What's more, Quavo [member of Migos] revealed to me that to get on the melody, and I just felt like it's an ideal open door for me to be on a track that is enormous like them.
‘Cause those are two big people, and I just started in the game. And I just know if I get on this record, it’s gonna be crazy. Like who doesn’t want it?’
Nicki said in her Thursday interview that she is not beefing with Cardi, she just felt let down.

Nicki Minaj said to host Zane:
‘That really, really hurt me because I really fully supported [Cardi]. And up until this recent interview she did [with Ebro Darden for Beats 1], I had never seen her show me genuine love in an interview.’
‘And I can only imagine how many girls wished they could’ve been on a song with Nicki Minaj. I’m not saying it in a cocky way… I’m saying it, like, the first thing out of your mouth when somebody asks you about a Nicki Minaj feaure is, “she changed her verse.” Excuse me?’
Nicki Mina, though hurt, showed her support for Cardi B and wished her nothing but success:
‘I do want to say shoutout to Cardi and all the new female rappers who’ve been doing their thing.’
‘With Cardi B, she’s done exactly what she should have done. She’s just gone full steam ahead. And, you know, congratulations to her.’
